Hello crafty friends. Today I am going to show you that not only boys rule 🙂 with amazing masculine collection called…. “Boys rule“. As you already know, I am a mom of two girls and I am pink and glitter addict because of that. But something I love in boy themed collections is colorful papers. I love having a whole rainbow of them and like using them in some new ways, not boy restricted. My recent page was inspired by the colors on the photo I chose. My older daughter is wearing blue shirt and it’s definitelly not the one of those soft and delicate girls pictures. She was also extremely artsy that day using her paints to color hands. I can only tell you that they were acrylic paints and washing them off wasn’t easy 🙂

I picked “Messed up” paper as my layout background because of it’s artsy feel and splatters. I thought it will match perfectly the theme of my page. Keeping the composition in the middle of the page helped me showcase the edges of this pretty paper.

I mixed ephemera pieces with chipboard cut outs and miscellany elements to build the composition around my photo. Adding a little bit of dimension makes the elements pop.

Title is a mixture of very old alfpa stickers from “Life is beautiful” collection, chipboard title and letters cut out from “Entitled” paper. Their wonky shape matches this messy artist perfectly.

My last step was to add a narrow strip of “Star fall” paper on the right side of the page to balance the composition. I also added few transparent stickers.

Making this page was really fun and relaxing. No fancy tools or techniques were needed with such a fun and well designed collection. It’s good to step outside the comfort zone and look for new challenges and color schemes. But do not worry 🙂 I will be back with flowers and pink in my next post for May 🙂

XO Anna
