Hello Cocoa Vanilla family! Tazhi here with a fun layout for you featuring a rainbow scheme because as we all know by now, rainbow is my favorite color.
The Happiness collection is easily one of my favorite lines to be released in a very long time. I know I said this last time but I love the color scheme and the floral elements and so this layout, I decided to use both. I started out with the Good Vibes paper, which is a kind of rainbow paint like striped patterned paper. I cut that paper into 6 two inch strips and then attacked it with my fringe scissors to create fringed strips. I then recreated the rainbow order on a piece of Bazzill cardstock. Before I stuck down the final fringed strip, I pulled out an array of Distress Oxides and some sponge applicators and created another rainbow across the top. One of my favorite features of Distress Oxides is how they interact with water so I dropped some water onto the ink and then blotted it with water to create that oxide effect. Next, I stuck down my final fringed strip and called my background done.
After I created this rainbow monstrosity, I needed a photo to document! I chose this photo of Joshua and I from the Disneymoon because I thought it worked with colors in my background and it was pretty fun and fit the energy of the layout I wanted to create. Next, I matted it on two papers from the 6×8 paper pad and created a kind of tone on tone scheme with my embellishments using ephemera from the Ephemera pack. I added some pieces to the left and the right of my photo, trying to create and retain balance as well as following the horizontal orientation that my fringed strips created.
Next, I added my title. I used some of the cardstock phrases to create my title – The Sweet Life seemed perfect for this photo. Finally, I pulled out the clear sticker pack and the Cardstock Accessory sticker sheet and added some final elements to my layout – these little heart stickers feel like the icing on the cake with a spread like this.
That’s the whole page done! I’m super happy with how this layout came out and I love how bright and fun it is. The Happiness collection truly is a thing of joy. I hope you enjoyed this and don’t forget to pop back in to see what the rest of the team is up to. Til next time, keep it crafty friends.
