Hey everyone, did you know that today is World Smile Day? Well I hope this post makes you smile today! Of course being a day all about smiling means that I had to document something that makes me smile and that is my little man Jack. Boy, he has the funniest little personality he honestly brings so much joy and fun (and cheekiness) to our household. I chose to use the fun Boys Rule collection for this layout.
The photo that I am documenting is one taken recently on the day of his 4th birthday. I brought an inflatable 4 and wanted a couple of pictures of him with it. The series of photos I got from this particular moment was very funny, all pulling silly faces of course.
Here is the layout that I created:
To embellish this page today used a combination of ephemera, chipboard pieces and clear stickers. The design of the page had me working in an asymmetrical design with three main clusters of embellishments. I had some embellishments with that gorgeous lime green in it so I decided to back the photo in that colour also. It really makes the photo pop don’t you think?
The title of ‘the best’ was perfect for this layout. Don’t we all think our kiddies are the best? Biased much? ha. Anyways to add dimension and to work with the rest of the layout more foam was needed.
The journaling was important to get added to this page. As always my typewriter came to the rescue and I was able to add it to the page in strip form on top of one of the miscellany ephemera pieces.
I framed the whole layout in some machine stitching. It is a go to technique if I border a layout with a patterned paper. You might notice the shadows in the detailed image below. Shadows are achieved by adding dimensional adhesives, mainly foam, underneath certain elements and aspects of the layout. I think my favourite addition to this page is the ‘epic’ clear sticker.
Thanks so much for stopping by the CVS blog today. I hope you spend the day doing something that makes you smile xxx
