Hello friends! It’s Kylie with you all today and I am very excited to be sharing with you my first layout as part of the Design Team. I am a huge lover of flowers and lots of them so my layout today reflects that.I have created it with the beautiful More Than Words collection.
I just love the beautiful pastel tones and pattern prints to this collection! To begin with I selected my backing paper ‘Radiant’ and added a triangle of white card stock to one side with a machine stitched edge.Next I cut out my Butterfly cut file, (designed by Paige Evans via the Silhouette Store) and backed it with an array of beautiful papers.I adhered it to my page with foam tape so that it stands out from my page.
Next I set to work on all those pretty blooms.I cut all of them from either a flower punch or dies from my stash and glued all the layers together. The enamel shapes were perfect for the centre of them, so I used lots of different sizes for effect.I also cut some leaves with a punch to add in and around my flowers.Once they were all glued in place I added some of the flowers, a butterfly and word phrase from the die cuts as well.
Since my layout has a rustic or textured theme I distressed the edges of my photo a little and made sure some of the flowers overlapped it once I had adhered it into place. I also added some of the typed phrase stickers with foam tape.
I love titles on a page so I couldn’t resist using one of the Chipboard stickers.Nestled in neatly amongst my blooms!
Once my layout was completed you could really see the dimension and texture the flowers gave.Whilst they sit up a little from the page, they won’t flatten too much should I place my layout into an album.
I hope you have enjoyed seeing my layout today and it inspires you a little with your own scrappy fun.Until next time,
