Hey everyone, it’s Raquel here sharing a layout for Throwback Thursday today! I delved right back into my Cocoa Vanilla stash for this one. You know, the stash of goodies that are hoarded for just the ‘right’ layout. I actually couldn’t believe I had full sheets of paper and ephemera left from this collection, it truly has been one of my all time faves from CVS.
Anyways, here is the layout that I created this Throwback Thursday:
I used the Twin Set paper as the main background for the page. I just adore that soft pink stripe. I would normally stray away from using a patterned paper background on a page, however I knew due to the softness of the colours in the paper I would be able to achieve the look I wanted while still having a patterned background. This is not something I do regularly or easily.
This page features the gorgeous free cut files designed by Cut to You for Cocoa Vanilla and the Happiness collection. I knew as soon as I saw the outlined florals that they had to feature on my next page. I used a couple of the patterned papers from Love Always to back the floral designs; Note to Self, Class Act and Frolic, I even included some plain vellum from my stash of goodies.
Here is the cut file set which you are able to download for free here
The subject of this layout is myself and my little family. With two children and a husband, it can be tough to get a perfectly posed photograph. This series of photos pretty much sums up my attempts to ‘be in the photo’ and get a photo ‘with’ the kids as part of hubbys birthday celebrations. If it wasn’t one child pulling a face it was the other, closed eyes, the works! However, I must say that these are the sorts of photos I love best, the ones that really capture their personalities. The die cut ephemera piece ‘picture perfect’ was a little play on words where I added typewritten text to my title before and after, simply to just state that even though we may not be textbook perfect, my little family sure if perfect to me.
As you can see in the below image, I have used a lot of foam adhesive on this layout. I love the depth and shadows this has brought to the layout, especially the cut file florals. To embellish the page I have used a variety of ephemera, chipboard, and enamel dots (I was totally hoarding those!). A little machine stitching to add texture and the page was done.
Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! It was so much fun to combine a new cut file with an older Cocoa Vanilla collection. Enjoy your Thursday!
