Hey everyone, it’s Raquel here with you today sharing my latest Cocoa Vanilla project. For todays layout I decided to use the beautiful More Than Words collection to document a nice photo that my daughter and I took together last month. I just love this photo and wanted to scrapbook it, but I also wanted to document what a sweet soul my little girl has. I sometimes fear that she may be a little sensitive like myself, but at the same time I love how much she cares for others around her.
Here is the layout that I created:
The main patterned paper I used on this layout is the Noteworthy paper. The soft pink grid is such a beautiful design. I always find it hard to decide which side of the Cocoa Vanilla papers that I want to use on a layout and this designed paper was no exception. So I decided to use both and cut a strip of the reverse script design and use it along the bottom of the pink piece. To add more detail to this I used a scallop border punch along the long edge.
I used a frame in the ephemera die cut pack to frame my black and white photo. The frame adds a touch of black and white again to the layout. One thing I love about the More than Words collection is the contrasts of black against the soft colour palette. I knew for this layout that I wanted to feature the Black Chipboard Title stickers as the title for my layout. They really stand out and pop off the page.
To either side of my photo I have clustered florals from the die cut ephemera pack. I adhered these using a variety of different depths of foam tape so the dimensions of the flowers were varied. The hearts from the chipboard title pack and a few small enamel dots finished embellishing the clusters to either side.
I added a small cluster of flowers to the bottom right corner of my layout to help balance out the heaviness of the top of the layout. My journaling for this page, although simple was typed on my typewriter, cut into strip form and adhered to my page. This is a style of journaling I do on most layouts.
I hope that you have been inspired by my layout today. Don’t forget to check out the CVS store if there was anything that I used on todays layout that you would love to get your hands on.
