Hi there friends!
It’s Kylie back with you today and I am sharing another layout I created with the stunning ‘Midnight’ collection. Both my children celebrated close Birthday’s recently and I was able to snap a nice photo of them together so this was the inspiration for my layout. I wanted lots of layers and colour variations for my design using the fab papers!
I am guilty of spending days sometimes, putting a layout together. However some layouts such as this one come together quite quickly. I kept it to a simple sketch design and it all flowed together in no time. I’ve added lots of the paper overlapping each other to form the background. The scalloped edged border to the base of my design was achieved by using a 1 inch circle punch and cutting each circle in half. For balance of colour I also added a thin border to the top of my layout as well.
One of my favourite techniques is layering.I love to layer die cuts and embellishments to support my photo. I added some neat clusters of flowers to opposite corners of my photo. Some were adhered with foam tape so they sat up from my background giving them dimension. As I’ve mentioned previously, I am totally obsessed with the cute Mason Jars in this collection so I couldn’t resist tucking one amongst my flower die cuts.
Using some of the alpha sentiment stickers I added a small sub-title over some of the flowers.
Some of the frame die cuts were also added in behind my photo. They add a nice touch of colour and balance. To finish my layout I added my title from the Die Cut Titles, adhering them flat to my page so that the eye is drawn to my photo where it is surrounded by the height of the die cuts flowers.
Thanks for stopping by today to see my latest design!
