I hope all our Aussie Cocoa Vanilla peeps are enjoying the long weekend! I am currently at the Brisbane Papercraft Expo on the Cocoa Vanilla booth and teaching with fellow DT members Sue Plumb and Lauren Hender *woop woop!!* If you are local to the expo I hope you were able to drop by and say hi!
Today I have got an easy mixed media layout using the new Boys Rule collection, using the rad speciality cut file paper. I decided to create a simple watercolour background using some watercolour paints from my stash, then back several of the stars of the cut file with some papers from the collection.
I layered the star cut file over the background and added some dimension to my photos by attaching foam behind them. This helped give a little definition between the background and foreground. I love that there are so many title options available throughout the collection including the chipboard and ephemera pieces! I decided to mix fonts on my title and love how the colours tie in with the colours of my watercolour brush strokes.
I absolutely love the festive feel the star cut file adds to my photo! I hope you also tune in to my process video where I show the full tutorial creating this layout. Stay tuned for some more Boys Rule layouts next time!!
Have a lovely week!
