Hello Cocoa Vanilla family and welcome to Easter weekend! Easter makes me think of eggs and pastels and spring time so I reached out to all those sources of inspiration for this particular layout.
I recently shared in the Facebook group that More Than Words was my ideal collection for documenting this time of year and thankfully i had more than enough to make this page. I started off with a cut file I purchased through the Silhouette Design Store that was a bunch of Easter eggs. I cut three eggs on white cardstock and then using the 6×6 paper pad, I cut backing pieces for each of the eggs. I decided to make a grid style layout because I thought it would show off each of the patterns and be a fun design to start with.
Once I had each of my eggs backed and glued, I arranged them on my background piece in a grid and glued them down. My photo is a picture of some flowers I found growing by my college and I thought the colors went perfectly with this collection. I first used the scraps from my eggs to back the photo and tie it into the overall design, and then I used some embellishments from the ephemera pack as well as a flair button from the Love Always collection. The colors in these two worked perfectly together!
Since I situated my photo in the upper right hand corner, I decided to place my title in the lower left hand corner. I used the grey chipboard from the collection for my title after adding some ephemera underneath it for a pop of color and some visual interest. Finally, in what is a very classic Tazhiana move, I hacked off a bit of cardstock on either side of the layout, distressed the edges, and glued down a strip of 12×12 cardstock underneath. I thought it needed the page needed a bit of magic, and by adding this element and some ephemera on both sides of the page, it added some interest and tied the whole page together.
I am really pleased with how this layout came out! The colors are 100% right up my alley – warm neutrals and beautiful pastels, and this layout screams springtime. I hope you found some inspiration here to tell your own springtime and Easter stories! Till next time, keep it crafty friends.
