Dream catcher for a friend | Bohemian dream | Anna Komenda

Hello everyone. It’s Anna here with my first post in 2018. I can’t believe that it’s my fourth year here at Cocoa Vanilla already. New collection is on it’s way to me so I have one more project created with “Bohemian dream” for you. It’s a dream catcher that was created as a gift for my scrappy friend Flóra. We never met in real life but we love chatting on-line. She lives in Slovenia so we organized this little treat pack swap for Christmas and I added this dream catcher as a surprise for her.

I made similar dream catcher using “Wild and free” collection few months ago so I am basically scraplifting myself. I really enjoy making projects like that because you can go crazy with dimension.

I used embroidery hoop as my base. Background is painted with watercolors, so are some of the flowers I used in the composition. I am running low on my ephemera packs so painting similar flowers was a really good idea.

Paper composition under the picture of Flóra helped me to add dimension. I added two layers of cardboard between each paper layer. I needed my picture to be lifted above the hoop. After this part was done, I started adding flowers. I used a lot of 3D foam squares 🙂

Butterflies and flowers are always a perfect match so I added few. I love the chipboard stickers that are part of “Bohemian dream” collection and I used them in this project too. Title HAPPY is made of them.

I finished my composition by adding enamel dots from various collections. This is the kind of embellishment I run out first.

I hope you like my projects. I will be back to you in two weeks with some inspiration created with “More than words” collection. i can’t wait to cut it.

XO Anna

About the Author:

Anna lives in Poland with her little family: husband, two daughters and a beagle dog. She is also a scrapaholic and has been addicted for over six years. It all started when her older daughter was born. She had so many cute photos and wanted to make some pretty albums to expose them. That's how she found out about scrapbooking and it turned out that it was a very important day in her life. Since that day she's never been bored and her hands are always dirty and colourful. She loves the process of making things, framing her photos and memories. It makes her feel grateful for what she has, and helps to remember how great life is on bad days.
