Hi crafty friends,

Ulli here with you today with a new 12×12 layout. In two days is Valentine´s day and so it´s all about love here at the Cocoa Vanilla Blog.

I love wedding pictures and so I searched for a photo from me and my husband from our first kiss as bride and groom on our wedding day. As background I used the wooden paper “Plus One” from the Cocoa Vanilla You Rock collection. I cut out the geometric heart cut file from Cocoa Vanilla and some flowers with my Silhouette Cameo. Then I backed the heart with the Bohemian Dream “Beautiful Mess” patterned paper. This paper has a part with a beautiful color transition from yellow to pink. I fussy cut the flowers from the Hello Lovely “Glimmer” paper und glued them under the heart. I also glued the Cocoa Vanilla cut outs in white under it.

I used a mask with flowers and and glued it with some Washi stripes on the top of my layout to fix it. Then I used white texture paste and I get a nice floral pattern on my background.

I placed the heart on my layout. For the title I used the “Hello” die cut from the Hello Lovely collection and the chipboard title “You” from the Bohemian Dream collection. Then I stitched over the chipboard title with my sewing machine.

I cut a triangle from the black and white striped Hello Lovely “Life Story” paper and glued it in the left corner on the top of my layout. I searched in my Cocoa Vanilla goodies embellishments in pink and yellow. I found in the Make A Wish collection pack some sequins, acrylic flowers and a tassel in pink. Also some Die Cut Embellishments from the Bohemian Dream collection.

I placed my photo on a doilie in yellow and decorated it with the “Hello Beautiful” die cut, the butterfly die cut, a word sticker and some sequins.

I made a banner with some papers from the Bohemian Dream collection, a rubber charm from the Wild At Heart collection and some Bohemian Dream stickers on the right side besides my photo.I stitched over it and glued the pink tassel on it. Then I wrote my journaling under the banner and decorated it with some sequins and enamel dots.

I stamped the date on a little tab and fixed it with my stapler on the right side of the geometric heart. Therefor I used some glue dots to add some dimension.

I splattered some gold paint across the page and then I decorated the geometric heart with sequins, acrylic roses and enamel dots and shapes. I took always the colors from the parts of the paper to underline the color transition with my embellishments.

I hope I could inspire you one way or another. Thank you for stopping by today.

Remember | Bohemian Dream | Ulrike Dold

By | 2018-01-23T22:45:59+00:00 January 26th, 2018|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Hello Lovely, Inspiration, Make A Wish, Wild at Heart|

Hey everyone,

Ulli here with you today with a new layout made with the gorgeous Bohemian Dream collection. I made the layout in the size 8.5×11. This is my favorite size for layouts in the moment because I really love the smaller format. I used a photo from our little daughter from fall 2017.

I decided to use only a limited color palette in pink, peach and coral and so I first searched patterned papers and embellishments in those colors. I love it when I go through my beautiful Cocoa Vanilla stuff… so many pretty colors, patterns, papers and embellishments.

I glued the photo behind the pretty striped chipboard frame from the Wild at Heart collection. The frame is a square and so I got the idea to cut some squares in different sizes from the Bohemian Dream collection for the background of my layout. Therefor I used the “Beautiful Mess” paper with many different patterns and the “Kaleidoscope” paper with the wooden design. I glued the photo on my layout and placed the squares with the different patterns around it. I stitched with my sewing machine over the square with the wooden paper under the photo.

Then I inked the chipboard title with little ink pads to get a color transition from pink to coral. I used the same colors for stamping the super cute Bohemian Dream clear stamps. I stamped the flower wreath in the same color transition on a piece of white cardstock and did some fussy cut. Then I stamped the brushstroke stamp on the bottom of my layout – also with a color transition and I love how to turned out. I placed the title “Remember” vertical beside my photo.

I splattered some gold paint across the page. After that I glued some vellum flowers with glue dots on the top of my frame and stitched over them.

I decorated the frame with die cut flowers from the Bohemian Dream ephemera pack, a heart chipboard sticker, the “Lovely” chipboard sticker and two word stickers.

I stamped the heart stamp and the “Little moments” stamp from the Bohemian Dream collection in black on two of the squares. The new Cocoa Vanilla clear stamps are so adorable! Then I drew some lines with black fine liner on my page and wrote my journaling on my layout.

I decorated the layout with some chipboard stickers, the stamped flower wreath, an die cut arrow and some fabric flowers from the Make A Wish collection.

I stamped the date with a date roller stamp on my layout. to finish off my page I added some enamel shapes and dots from the Hello Lovely and the Bohemian Dream collections.

I hope I could inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Hey, friends!  Missy here, and I have a layout to share today using mostly the Bohemian Dream collection.  Before I get to the layout, I want to thank Zoe, Sue and the rest of the team for having me this year.  This is my last post as a design team member.  I’ve had an amazing year, and every collection I’ve worked with has just been off the charts awesome.  I will miss posting here each month, but I will definitely be continuing to use these gorgeous products!  I began this layout with the Bohemian Dream Abstract paper.  It’s so messy & artsy, and I love all the colors.  I used a loopy circle cut file and cut it on my Cameo.  I used white cardstock as my background, and I used some pink, orange and blue ink sprays to create a watercolor effect.  I splattered it a lot and used a palette knife to scrape it down.

I love the mix of colors here!  I couldn’t resist using some of the gorgeous Bohemian Dream floral die cuts.  I also used a little floral cluster from Hello Lovely that I fussy cut.  It matched perfectly!  I also punched a few blue flowers from the Abstract paper.

I popped my photo up off the page using some adhesive foam, and I love the dimension that creates.

I added a fun circle die cut at the top here…I believe that is from the Life is Beautiful collection.  I really love how you can see the ink splatters through the cut file.

I went simple with my title and used “this” from the Bohemian Dream White Chipboard Words.  I did my journaling on two Bohemian Dream label stickers.

Aren’t those vellum flowers just breathtaking?  Those are also from Bohemian Dream, and I just tucked a few under the left side of the photo.

I hope this gives you some new ideas to try on your next layout…it was really fun to put together!  Again, thank you all for your sweet comments and support for the last year.  It was truly an honor to serve on this team.  Be sure to check out my process video down below.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Hello again, friends!  Missy here, and I have a monochromatic layout to share today.  I was in the mood to use a lot of blue on this page, so I sorted through all the Cocoa Vanilla collections I own and pulled out all the blue papers.  I was surprised to see how many shades of blue there were!  I used this beautiful butterfly cut file and cut it on white cardstock.  I backed each one with a blue paper, and I just love mix of lights and darks.  I used the beautiful wood grain paper from Bohemian Dream as my background.  I coated a lot of it white gesso first and then used a few different shades of blue inks sprays over that.  I wanted more blue to peek out from around the cut file and in between all the butterflies.

I added some foam adhesive under all the butterflies to raise them up off the page.  I love the dimension this creates, and it really just makes the layout come to life.  I tucked my photo in to the left of the cut file and overlapped them.

I went small with the title and used this fun banner sticker from the Hello Lovely Accessory Stickers.  I didn’t want to add a large title because there really wasn’t anywhere to put it.  I didn’t want to cover up the butterflies or make them look busier.

I added this sticker from Wild At Heart here, and I love the pop of dark blue it gives.

I used a few things under my photo for layering.  I pulled a dark blue chipboard frame from Wild At Heart and also a fun die cut frame from Life is Beautiful.  I also added a few Life is Beautiful heart stickers and a gorgeous blue leaf stem from Bohemian Dream.  I love how the water in this photo looks like the background paper.  They both have lines, and I thought it matched very well.

Here’s one last close-up of the layering and dimension.  I really love how it turned out!

I hope this inspires you to go through all your papers and choose one main color to work with.  It helps you narrow down what you can use and helps to bring your page together faster.  Plus it’s fun to work with all those different shades of just one color!  Be sure to check out my process video here if you’d like to see how I made this.

Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a fabulous day!

My 2017 Favourites | Sue Plumb

By | 2017-12-21T08:00:45+00:00 December 21st, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Hello Lovely, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hi everyone! It’s Sue here with my final design team post for 2017. Today I am sharing a few of my personal favourite pages that I have created this year using Cocoa Vanilla Studio products. Some of these pages were created specifically for Cocoa Vanilla, and some were created for other teams, but still using CVS products.

The first page I want to share is one I created using the ‘You Rock’ collection. I make no secret of the fact I LOVE creating boy pages (lucky, because I have a twin set of them!) This layout features so many things I love to include on my pages – mixed media, bright colour, and layers. I am also a huge fan of stars, so you will also notice them often, especially on my boy pages.

For a change of pace, the second page I am going to share was a recent one, using the ‘Bohemian Dream’ collection and a photo of my gorgeous girl and our cat. Again, this layout featured mixed media (this time watercolour pencils), colour and layers. It also features butterflies – I LOVE butterflies and this collection has some of the most exquisite ones I have ever seen in a papercraft range.

The next one I have to share was actually created for the Scrap the Boys challenge blog back in July, using the ‘You Rock’ collection and some fun black and white photos of my boys. Again you can see mixed media (including stamping and texture paste) and plenty of layers. One of my favourite things about this page is the combination of those blue / grey tones combined with the raw wood *swoon*

For my final favourite page from 2017, I am sharing another layout that wasn’t created specifically for Cocoa Vanilla Studio, using an older (but still favourite) collection – ‘Hello Lovely’. I love this page not only for it’s colours and design, but also for the fact it featured a complete family photo on it (a rare event around here!)

Thanks so much for stopping by today so I could share these with you and for all your support and kind words throughout the year. Wishing you and your families a very Merry Christmas and happy holidays. See you in 2018!

Hello everyone!

It’s Elodie with you today for my last post of the year. I had so much fun playing with the amazing CVS collections that came out this year but also with some of the beautiful older lines! Here are a couple of my favourite layouts from 2017!

Shine Bright

I love creating scenes on my layouts! Here, I made a big sun using a large photo of my youngest daughter on the beach along with pretty Hello Lovely papers and embellies. This page is just as happy and bright as my little miss sunshine!

Captured

I really enjoyed making girly layouts with the You Rock collection! For this page, I made tags with You Rock papers and washi stickers, I placed them on each side of my sweet photo and I adorned them with awesome embellies from the range. I also made ornaments hanging down from the pic with fussy cut stars and a bit of stitching. I love how soft this page looks!

Follow Your Dreams

For this layout, I used the gorgeous Wild at Heart collection along with a photo of my girls playing on the beach. I made a big butterfly on my page using pretty fussy cut butterflies and shiny enamel dots for the wings. I placed the pic and beautiful Wild at Heart embellies in the center of the page to create the body of my butterfly. So dreamy!

Thanks so much for visiting the blog today! Happy holidays to you all!

Hi everyone!

2017 is fast coming to an end, and as a way of rounding off the year, we thought that it might be fun if each of our design team members shared some of our favourite projects that we’ve created this year using the beautiful Cocoa Vanilla products! I’m kicking it off today, and I have three layouts to share with you that feature a variety of different CVS collections!

I love how this first layout came together! I combined quite a few different collections, including ‘Colour Me Happy‘, ‘Wild at Heart‘, ‘Love Always‘, ‘Make a Wish‘, ‘Endless Summer‘, and ‘Hello Lovely‘. The soft pastel colours teamed up with pops of black and white, and grey, made for a a really pretty colour palette that was perfect for documenting these photos of my youngest daughter enjoying her first Easter egg. If you’d like to read more about this layout, you can find all the details in my original blog post here…

This is another one of my favourite layouts that I’ve created this year! It features the lovely ‘Endless Summer‘ collection, as well as a CVS cut file, and the cutest photo of my daughter and my nephew enjoying an ice cream together! The florals in the  ‘Endless Summer’ collection are so beautiful, and they’re perfect for fussy cutting! You can view my original blog post here for all the details about this layout…

And I also have a process video for this layout that you can check out on my YouTube channel…

Here is the third and final layout that I want to share with you today, featuring the beautiful ‘Love Always‘ collection. My aim for this layout was to keep it light and airy, and very simple. I love the end result, and I think it was the perfect way to document this photo of my sweet little niece! You’ll find closeups and more details about this layout in the full blog post…

And I have a process video for this layout as well…

I hope that you’ve enjoyed taking another look at some of my favourite layouts from this year! I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for the encouragement and support that you’ve shown me over the past year with all of  your likes and comments on social media, and by taking the time to read my blog posts. I appreciate all of you so much, and I look forward to sharing more projects with you in 2018. Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year!
