Hi Everyone, it’s Michelle back today with a super quick creative share. I’m still taking it easy since my surgery last month, and hadn’t really spent much time in my craft room, so I thought what better way to ease back into it than with a couple of cards. Super simple and quite easy to replicate using pieces from the beautiful Bohemian Dream collection.
The first card I made using some offcuts of the 6×6 Paper pad cut into banner flags, ‘strung’ along the top of the card and stitched in place.
I used the paint smear stamp from the set in the collection and some yellow ink under the ‘shine bright’ sticker and layered another sticker above it to create a sweet sentiment for the recipient.
To finish the card I added a leaf from the ephemera pack and some enamel dots for a little extra pop of colour.
Second card was another super simple one but my favourite by far. I used a piece of the beautiful floral print ABUNDANT from the 6×6 paper pad behind some white cardstock, then a strip of GYPSY HEART under the chipboard word HAPPY from the collection.
I added in the word birthday with alphas from the Make a Wish collection as nothing else looked as good. Lastly I tucked in a couple of the leaf pieces from the ephemera pack, some hand writing to finish off the card and some machine stitching to hold it all in place.
Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to check in daily for more inspiration from the other Design team members.
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
I complete my layout with more ephemera pieces and that stunning butterfly chippie! Final finishing touches are the sequins and my hand coloured twine. Perfection!
Let’s take a better look…..
How stunning is the ombre CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKER title, ‘HAPPY’?! It reminds me of a beautiful sunset and the yellow contrasts beautifully with the purple tones of the DREAMER paper. Here’s another view of it….
It’s really pretty!!! As are the surrounding blooms and butterflies!
To create gentle dimension on this ‘clean’ look, I use mounted tape on one of the blooms, fold and elevate the wings of the die cut ephemera, and use a CHIPBOARD ACCENT STICKER butterfly for interest. I also add my own hand coloured twine creating flow and texture too!
Amanda here, and while we eagerly await the all NEW More Than Words collection, I have another stunning design with Bohemian Dream to keep you inspired! ‘Cause let’s be honest, I still can’t get enough of this gorgeous line!!!
Oh.WOW!!! Isn’t this just something?!!
It’s no secret that I LOVE all the pretty things, but this collection, well let’s just say it makes me swoon each and everytime I create with it! It’s hard to go wrong with something this beautiful! LOVE it all!!!
For this design, I start with a 12 x 12 white cardstock base, and begin by adding paper strips in BD-005 DREAMER to both the left and right sides of my layout. This is one of my absolute favourite papers! So pretty AND versatile! As my photo ‘looks’ to the left, I decide to position it onto the right to encourage visual flow. So, with this in mind, the main feature of my layout is on the right hand side. I use some complimentary purple paints to create my mixed media base and then embellish, embellish, embellish!
Here’s a closer look….
Oh this really is divine!!!
Inspired by that incredible dreamcatcher CHIPBOARD STICKER, I fussy cut a larger one from pattern paper CV-BD006 BOHO BITS. To make this fussy cut one look more impressive, I foam mount that you are amazing DIE CUT EPHEMERA onto it. Feathers and gems are now part of my developing theme, and so I continue to add more of them into my layout! You’ll also notice that I create my own hanging mobile feathers too! I use a delicate lilac tulle ribbon, and glue it underneath that chippie dreamcatcher. At the base of the ribbon, I attach those DIE CUT EPHEMERA feathers – so pretty!!!
Such a simple idea, but oh so effective!
As we travel down the right side, we encounter more birds. That FLAIR BUTTON bird is the sweetest! And the birdy adorning my CHIPBOARD STICKER photo frame – well that has also been fussy cut from pattern paper CV-BD006 BOHO BITS. That pattern paper is so awesome!
And all winged things belong together, right? So I include a few butterflies (VELLLUM & DIE CUT EPHEMERA) for good measure.
What a Gem! I add a sprinkling of ENAMEL SHAPES and sequins to unite this magical, whimsical notion of dreamcatchers and gems. The Happy Days ACCESSORY STICKER tucks in under those feathers beautifully and forms my layout title.
That CHIPBOARD STICKER butterfly is SO gorgeous that I use its smaller DIE CUT EPHEMERA counterpart to complete the right side of my design.
Before we move on, let’s just take a closer look at that distressed woodgrain framed photo …..
Eeeep! That’s me (I know, I am really trying to make the effort to feature in more photos this year) with my beautiful daughter! We were having a ‘girls day’ and having so much fun! Love it! That CHIPBOARD STICKER frame is the perfect accent to my photo. I love the white distressed woodgrain – it adds texture without any fuss! Heart this moment, indeed! The typewriter font ACCESSORY STICKERS are always my go to for journaling. I really prefer them over my own messy handwriting & they’re so easy to apply!
Moving to the left now, and you’ll immediately spot that butterfly! Yes, it’s the same as the chippie one on the right…..
I just loved it so much that, yes you guessed it, I fussy cut it out from my new fave paper, CV-BD006 BOHO BITS. Are you needing this pattern paper yet?!! I know I’ve ordered more 😉 I mounted the butterfly onto that circular ACCESSORY STICKER and added a few more ENAMEL SHAPES & sequins. So pretty! I then add my remaining die cuts. Those printed tabs just perfect for embellishing that paper strip with! A heart, and last but by no means least, one more butterfly to keep with the whimsy!
And there you have it!
A super stunning layout that really takes advantage of our fabulous embellishments and pattern paper, BOHO BITS!

Hi Everyone, It’s Michelle back here to finish the month off with a quick post about my favourite layouts created in 2017. I’ve created a tonne of layouts with Cocoa Vanilla Studio products for both this design team and the others that I’m on, so it was extremely hard to narrow down the favourites. I really thought this post would be filled with florals and pretty feminine colours, but surprisingly from the 5 I chose, 3 of them are featuring the You Rock collection!
First up is this fun creation “Owlette & Batbear” featuring the You Rock collection. Inspired by the stars from the collection and the colours of the photos, this collection truly made this memory shine. While Leila has moved on from being obsessed with PJ Masks to loving all things Mario and Luigi, I’m so glad this moment was captured and recorded. This child of ours completely embraces all kinds fun and imaginative play from the moment she wakes and all day through. ORIGINAL POST HERE
Next up is one of my favourites created with the Make a Wish collection“Hip Hip Hooray”. This collection was and is still by far my most favourite collection, although Bohemian Dream is pretty much equal to it. The floral designs and the sweet colour palette are perfect for documenting all things feminine and girly, especially a Birthday Celebration. Teamed with a large floral cut file from the Colour Me Happy collection and lace doily from my stash and we have a match made in heaven (well for me anyway) ORIGINAL POST HERE
Now this creation “Star of the Week”is definitely one of my all time favourites, a scrap lift of a layout made by Missy earlier in the year. Another layout using the You Rock collection, perfect for scrapping School photos, and documenting the very first award Leila received at school. This was such a fun layout to create, especially when it involved scrap lifting a long time scrappy Idol of mine 😉 ORIGINAL POST HERE
Almost to the end of the post, and were up to “One of a Kind” that I created more recently using the Bohemian Dream Collection. I couldn’t not share this layout as a favourite! The colours and designs within the collection are absolutely stunning, so much so that I couldn’t help but use almost all of it on one layout! I created a grid using the 6×6 paper pad (the smaller scale designs are perfect for grid work) and grouped a few of my favourites from the ephemera pack to finish it off.ORIGINAL POST HERE
Lastly a fun layout using more of the You Rock collection and a silly photo of my nephew. It was so nice to create something more masculine, and to record a special little moment shared with this little cutie. “Hello Mister Rad” was one of the quickest layouts created to date, surprisingly it all just came together without much thought so I should definitely try and do it more often! ORIGINAL POST HERE
Well thats all from me today, Thank you all so much for stopping by to check out my favourites. Another big THANK YOU to you all for your continued support throughout the year, I can’t wait to get back to scrapping and sharing again in the new year!
Until then, Happy Holidays and Happy Scrapping!
I can’t believe its almost the New Year already! Time really does fly when we’re having fun!
And, to celebrate another fabulous year at Cocoa Vanilla Studio, the Design Team are sharing our scrap-tastic favourite projects from the year!
While I am a HUGE fan of all our collections, there are two from this year that stole my heart & I am still creating with them; Wild At Heart & Bohemian Dream. I may have a thing for #alltheprettythings 😉
Enough chatter though, here are a few of my favourite creations from 2017….
First up, is this layout that I created for Paper Issues using our beautiful Wild At Heart collection.
“Happy Sweet You”
You can see why it’s a favourite – SO pretty!
I just adore all the butterflies and that floral paper backing the Paper Issues cut file! Gorgeous!
And speaking of butterflies, my other favourite layout with our Wild At Heart collection is this stunner….
I absolutely LOVE all the butterflies in this collection and had so much fun with this fussy cut wreath design! It’s just perfect for my pretty girl!
