That’s My Boy | Flying High Layout | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone! It’s Sue back with you again today to share a layout I created recently using the Flying High collection.

For many years, I was strictly a “girly” scrapper, and never really paid much attention to masculine scrapping. That is, until my twin boys arrived and suddenly my scrapping world was turned on its head! I struggled to find many “boy” lines I liked that worked for me in more than one style. Well I am pleased to say after putting Flying High to the test, it has proven to be very versatile and has passed with “flying” colours. (Sorry, couldn’t resist that one!)

Lots of “Flying High” layers here – papers, Accessory Stickers, Flair Button Badge and Wood Veneer Shapes. The cork hearts are actually from the “Sugar and Spice” collection. (Like many of the embellishments, they are easily interchangeable.)

I also created this cute little arrow embellishment using a banner sticker, small cork hearts and the tip of a cork star; along with a paper straw and some twine.

I hope my layout has inspired all you “boy scrappers” out there! (And scrappers of girls too – just substitute the papers for some “Sugar & Spice” ones and this style of layout will work for you as well!)

Til next time, happy scrapping!

So Much Fun Layout | Flying High | Raquel Bowman

Hey everyone

Raquel Bowman here today to share with you a layout I created using the Flying High collection.

Sometimes when I take a series of photos I find it hard to choose just one to document and scrapbook. This leads me to create a multi photo layout. Today’s layout was one of those times. It is a layout documenting how my little mans eyes light up when we take selfies together as he can see himself in the reverse camera on my phone. it is just the cutest!

Here is the layout I created,

Layout title: So much fun!

so much fun

Products Used:

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Little Star Patterned Paper

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Flight Path Patterned Paper

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Sky High Patterned Paper

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Accessory Stickers

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Flair Button Badges

Cocoa Vanilla Studio – Flying High; Wood Veneers

Other: white card stock, vellum, sewing machine, white thread, typewriter.

Here is a close up of my journaling and the story of these photos, I tacked it lightly with a tape adhesive in the center of each strip and machine stitched them on through the middle:

so much fun-1

The Accessory stickers are perfect for layering and the wood veneer finish of this little cluster perfectly:

so much fun-2

I have matted the photos on the patterned papers utilising both sides of the patterned papers. The middle photo, is popped up on foam tape and slightly larger in size to help it be more of a focus:

so much fun-3

These Flair buttons are the perfect way to add a bit of dimension to a page without being too lumpy bumpy. I have also added a touch of machine stitching as extra detail:

so much fun-4

I am really enjoying playing with different layout designs with these collections, can you tell I have a thing for geometric designs right now? ha.

Don’t forget to keep checking in here as the blog is updated VERY regularly with design team posts.

H is for Happy and Beautiful You | Cards by Marcia Dehn-Nix

Hello Cocoa Vanilla Studios friends!

Marcia here today with a couple of cards, one using the bright and happy Flying High collection and another using the soft and sweet Sugar & Spice collection. I just couldn’t help myself from creating a fun airplane card, after all this is the Flying High collection! The airplane against the cloud background paper makes the perfect birthday card that would delight any little boy. This card is a gate-fold card. It opens in the middle.

I used stickers from the collection for the sentiment, and added more clouds and stars to decorate the card front.

My second card is soft and feminine just like the Sugar and Spice collection. Again, I feel this collection is not just for little girls, but big ones too. In fact, I plan to give this card to my 75 year old Mother-in-Law. She will LOVE it!

Again, I used a sticker from the collection for my sentiment and to add a little border strip along the spine.

I hope I have inspired you to make your own cards using the Flying High and Sugar & Spice collection.

Girls just wanna have books layout | Sugar and Spice | Anna Kossakovskaya

Hello, Anna is here and I want to show you my new layout I made using Sugar and Spice collection. I love to create something with light background and bright details, so this collection is very good for it.

This layout is about our daughter and her love for books. It wasn’t a love at first sight. But after she turned two years old I took The Gruffalo book and started to read it. And it was like a magic! Since that day Alice really loves books and always asks to read to her.

So I wrote down this story on the journaling card that I cut from sheet with cards. Also I added a cork hear with sticker and wood veneer hearts on it.

From the same sheet I cut a cork card and put a title on it. For title I used sticker with ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ phrase. I cut the last word and added ‘books’ instead of it. So now that phrase have the meaning I need!

Under the photo I added some paper layers and stick it on the foam tape. On the picture I stick some stickers, a flair and othe small cute elements, that always added some pretty view.

Hello Beautiful Girl Layout| Sugar & Spice and Flying High | Belinda Griffin

Hi All!

Belinda back today to share a layout featuring both the Sugar & Spice and Flying High Collections! As soon as I first received these two collections I wanted to combine the funky Flying High chevron paper and the adorable Sugar & Spice hearts paper. I love the patterns together. I love it when patterns *almost* clash but end up working perfectly together!

Hello Beautiful Girl copy

The awesome word stickers made for a quick and easy title, and the butterfly sticker was a great quick embellishment- I left the wings unstuck to help give it some dimension. Of course I had to add a couple of the adorable tiny wood veneer hearts, they’re just too cute!

Hello BeautifulClose1_edited-1I love groups of things so a few hearts (one with a foam dot under it for dimension), a bunch of the little chevron style stickers and a few arrows helped finish off this bright and cheerful page. The CVS products just make it too easy!

Hello BeautifulClose2 copyThanks for stopping by, hopefully the fabulous design team has been inspiring you to create with these two fabulous collections!

Trio |Sugar & Spice Canvas | Anna Komenda

Hello. It’s Anna here. Today I want to show You my canvas created with “Sugar and spice” collection. I also have some step by step tutorial for You, showcasing my creative process.

I used 8*8 inches white canvas. I played with some media to create background for my composition.

This time I used my paper scraps to make paper rolls as a main part of my composition.

They are in different sizes and lenghts. It made my composition very dimensional. Just perfect to be hanged on the wall.

I used funny selfie of me and my daughters in black and white colours to match my colourful composition of rolls. I also added lot of sticker flowers. I really love them. They come in different sizes and colours and it’s so easy to use them in the projects.

And the title? Well, three of us make a trio, right?

And some close – ups for the end 🙂

If You are curious how I made this canvas here is the step by step tutorial I prepared specially for Cocoa Vanilla fans. Enjoy watching 🙂

Have a great day 🙂
