Meet Amanda-Jayne Baldwin | 2015 Design Team

Hello, hello, and welcome to our week of introductions… I announced our first ever Design Team yesterday, and we have an awesome group of ladies to inspire you with their handiwork!

So while they wait for their goodie bags to arrive and start creating with Cocoa Vanilla Studio products, I thought it would be nice to get to know them a little better! 🙂

Amanda-Jayne Baldwin

I really love Amanda-Jayne’s classic style and the beautiful, feminine touches that adorn her pages! She is is a woman of many talents, and I really loved seeing such a variety of different projects… She has no shortage of creativity – she creates just about every day, and told me she does 35-40 projects a month.  A MONTH!! I just can’t wait to see what she will create with our products!  Apart from her amazing style, her bubbly personality is sure to win you over – she’s a real sweetheart!

My name is Amanda-Jayne Baldwin, and I am an Australian paper-crafting and mixed media artist! I am a children’s Art Educator for Little Picassos & am also on a number of scrapbooking / papercrafting Design Teams – basically not a day passes where I am not busy in the studio creating something (and that’s just the way I like it)! I absolutely love colour and getting creative and I hope my creations will inspire you 😉

I am married to a wonderful man and have two amazing children – Miss M nearly 9 years old & Mr A, 2.5yrs old. Hillariously funny, incredibly lovable, gorgeous little people who feature often in my creations. They are my inspiration in everything I do!

Sugar & Spice Layout | Sugar & Spice

Last night, I finally got time to sit down and do another page with the Sugar & Spice collection.  I usually feel a bit guilty when I scrapbook, so it was nice to be able to do some under the guise of “working”… *cough cough* 😛

I will admit, this layout didn’t come easily… I started with the base and just couldn’t figure out where to put everything… I spent a long time just pushing embellies around the page LOL! It was one of those pages that took on a bit of a life of it’s own once I got into the swing of it though, and I actually really like how it turned out!

I love this photo of my daughter, Lola… She is such a sweet little thing, but then sometimes she can be a real handful as she is a little bit headstrong (I wonder where that comes from)… I love the cheeky look she’s giving me over her glasses, from memory she was getting ready to tell me not to take any more photos. She is a real case of Sugar & Spice in action LOL!

I was excited to finally have a chance to play with the Wood Veneer, and it was so much fun!! I think I might have to do a few more pages just so I can use it again!

I love that the wood veneer pieces layer perfectly on top of the flowers from the Sticker Sheet to add a bit of dimension.

You can download the Project Sheet for this layout, as well as see a complete list of all the supplies used, on our Project Ideas page!

So even though I felt like throwing this layout in the “too hard basket” in the beginning, I’m glad I pushed through because it all came together in the end…

Hope you are having a fantastic Monday!

Thank you so much to everyone who applied… With over 100 applicants, it’s going to be a hard one to decide! I’m going to give myself a week to make sure I have time to look at everyone’s app properly… Thanks so much for your patience with me while I choose!!

So stay tuned – the team will be announced after the 25th January! 😀

Flying High Layout | Sweet Boy

If you’re just joining us, this week I’m sharing some of the layouts I’ve done with the Flying High and Sugar & Spice collections…

Today, I’m back to basics with the Flying High collection… I’ve mentioned before how much I love this collection for boys of all ages, so today I’m sharing a page that I did for my son’s baby album!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio - Sweet Boy

My little guy was only two weeks old when this photo was taken… awwww!! I miss that little bundle of cuteness!  I love how this paper is kind of a page on it’s own, just waiting to have some photos and embellishments to it… It was so easy!

I wanted it to look like the stars were hanging from the sky in a kind of baby’s mobile (does that make sense? LOL), so I stitched some lines to “hang” them from.  I love the effect and will definitely be using it again! I loved having the mix of stars to use from the Sticker Sheet, plus the Cork Stars are now the go-to item in my stash – I can see them being used in lots of my future pages!

You can download the Project Sheet for this layout, as well as see a complete list of all the supplies used, on our Project Ideas page!

I’ve never really scrapped a lot of my son’s baby photos for some reason, so I’m glad I have lots to use for this collection!

I’ll be back with more inspiration soon… Thanks so much for reading, and I hope you have a fantastic Friday! 😀

Sugar & Spice Layout | Beautiful Girl

This week, I’m sharing some of the layouts I’ve done with the Flying High and Sugar & Spice collections…

I couldn’t wait to get my hot little hands on the Sugar & Spice collection – it’s so pretty and girly, and I was excited to be able to scrap my little cherub with this gorgeous collection!

Cocoa Vanilla Studio - Beautiful Girl

My little Lola is a real chatterbox and full of life, but she freezes and becomes a completely different child as soon as she gets in front of the camera… I love this photo because it shows her vulnerability and a certain shyness that I usually don’t get to see from my little firecracker very often!

I loved having such a variety of flowers and sweet embellies to use from the Sticker Sheet, the Cork Hearts are a great basic to have on hand, and the Flair Buttons make another appearance of course!  This layout was super duper quick… and then I decided to hand embroider the details around the edge, so that took a bit longer, but I think it was totally worth the effort! 😉

What I especially loved was the Beautiful Girl wording that’s included on the Sticker Sheet – it made the title a no-brainer 😉

You can download the Project Sheet for this layout, as well as see a complete list of all the supplies used, on our Project Ideas page!
