Hello everyone! Big thanks for popping over to the Cocoa Vanilla Studio blog today.
This post is all about keeping it simple. I find there are times that I am over whelmed with the amount of scrapbooking product that I pile on to layouts. So this layout I thought I would apply the keep it simple moto and use the Colour Me Happy Snippets! Now I know that the Colour Me Happy collection was released awhile ago but I loved it and I am lucky to still have lots of goodies.
My son loves to play basketball and I captured this photo of him playing at a recent game. He is not one for having his photo taken but I can get away with it while he is playing as all his concentration is on the ball.
To make the photo pop off the page I added a few layers of tags underneath it and a couple of snippet pieces to the side. To adhere it to the page I used thick foam adhesve.
I then added the large ‘BALL’ title using a stencil and using large black alpha stamps to stamp the quote. Well this is really half a quote by NBA basketballer Stephen Curry. I couldn’t fit the rest but thought the first half of the quote sounded inspiring enough.
I added a small strip of boys rule cardstock at the top and bottom of the page just to give a little boarder and along the bottom the star strip out of the snippets.
I then added some droplets of black ink and light blue water colour paint. I also added some of the black typewriter font words from the snippets throughout the quote just to break up the block text. I also added some of the You Rock enamel shapes.
So lets go shopping..
I hope that my layout has inspired you and help challenge you to try and keep it simple sometimes.
