Fall 2017 | You Rock | Ulrike Dold

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a new layout which I created with the gorgeous You Rock collection.

I used a beautiful photo from my son and I wanted to add a big journaling about him with the age of 16 months. I decided to use the colors black and white with some blue tones.

First I cut my white cardstock in the size 8.5×11 inch. Then I marked the point where my journaling should start and I wrote it down with my typewriter.

I cut off a small paper stripe from the Random paper from the amazing You Rock collection and placed it on the left side of my cardstock. Then I stitched three times over it. I glued the photo left-aligned with my journaling on my layout. I decorated it with a acetate feather from the Bohemian Dream collection and a die cut leave from the Hello Lovely collection and stitched over it with my sewing machine. Then I glued a circle die cut with a star from the You Rock die cut embellishments over it.

For the title I cut out the lettering “Fall” with my Silhouette Cameo. I glued it on the right side and upright on my photo and stitched over it with white sewing thread. Then I stamped the year date in black alongside.

I added a chipboard arrow from the You Rock chipboard stickers on the left side of my photo. Then I stamped the date with a date roller stamp on the “The Orinal” Sticker from the accessory sticker sheet and placed it on the left side below on my photo. Therefor I used foam squares to add some dimension.

I splattered some black paint across the page. For giving my layout a autumnal touch I stamped some leaves in different blue tones on white cardstock and cut them out. I placed them diagonal with foam squares on my layout. I started on the left corner below and end at the right corner on the top of my layout.

I stamped “All The Feels” in blue below my journaling and glued two word stickers and the “You Rock” sticker from the You Rock accessory stickers on my layout.

To finish off my page I added some enamel shapes and enamel dots from the You Rock and the Colour Me Happy collections and some die cut stars from the You Rock die cut ephemera pack.

I hope you like my layout. Thanks for stopping by today.

My Favourites from 2017 | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-12-31T13:18:44+00:00 December 26th, 2017|Cut Files, Design Team, Endless Summer, Free Spirit, Inspiration, Wild at Heart|

Hello CVS friends!

Ulli here with you today and it is my last post in the year 2017. It is time to reflect the last year and my wonderful time at the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Design Team.

When I got the email from Zoe in the beginning of 2017 a dream came true. And that´s why I want to say thank you again. Dear Zoe, thank you for your trust, for this wonderful chance and for having me. I really love being a part of the CVS family and I am looking forward for the upcoming year!

Today I want to show you my three favourite layouts from 2017.

The first layout is my first Cocoa Vanilla Studio Layout ever. I made it with the gorgeous Wild At Heart collection and probably it will be forever the most important project for me using this brand. It was love at the first sight when I worked the first time with the gorgeous papers and embellishments designed by the amazing Zoe Pearn. I really adore working with these beautiful scrapbooking supplies. And as you know I love big picture layouts and flowers.

My second favourite is the layout which I made for the All About Colour theme. I made a colourful wreath out of Cocoa Vanilla embellishments and die cut parts of water-colored paper. Therefor I used the Endless Summer, the Wild At Heart and the You Rock collection from Cocoa Vanilla. I think in this layout you can see how beautiful the Cocoa Vanilla embellishments are and how well the different collections fit together.

And my third favourite layout is this big picture layout which I made with the Free Spirit collection and the Wild At Heart collection. I used a big black and white picture from my little daughter with her beloved balance bike and I stitched rays of papers on the 12×12 layout.

After watching all three of my favourites layouts I realized that all three have something in common. I used a black and white photo for all of them, I used the colour pink at all of these projects and I have used on all flowers as embellishments. And two of three are big picture layouts – typical me.

I hope you liked my little review of my creative Cocoa Vanilla year 2017. I wish you all a good start in the new year.

See you in the year 2018,

Ulli

Beautiful December Memories | Bohemian Dream | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-12-11T06:54:32+00:00 December 12th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Cut Files, Design Team, Endless Summer, Inspiration, Make A Wish|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a christmas layout with a non-christmas collection with you. I hope you have seen all the amazing projects from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio Design Team the last two weeks because they are really amazing!

When I start with my layout I first struggled a little bit with this theme. But then I went through my christmas pictures and I saw one picture with my favorite christmas ball ornaments. It is a pink christmas ornament with a big hibiscus flower on it. It was simply perfect for Cocoa Vanilla and for this challenge!

I decided to use the gorgeous Bohemian Dream collection with all its beautiful colorful flowers and it was the perfect match for my picture.

I used a geometric christmas ornament cut file from the Silhouette design store. I backed the ornament with different patterned papers from the Bohemian Dream collection. Therefor I used the papers “Abundant”, “Beautiful Mess” and “Flower Child”.

I used thin thread in gold for hanging up the backed ornament on the top of my layout. I utilized  my stapler to attach the thread on the paper. On the backside of the paper I used some washi tape to fix the thread.

Then I splattered some gold paint across the page and placed the photo on the left side of the christmas ball ornament. I used the “Favourite” tab from the accessory sticker sheet from the Bohemian Dream collection and my stapler to decorate it.

I glued many flowers and leaves from the die cut ephemera pieces from the Bohemian Dream collection and a hibiscus flower die cut from the Endless Summer collection under this two elements. I wanted to achieve the look of a twig of fir and so I also used some die cutting pieces in the shape of leaves which I made with my Big Shot and white cardstock.

For the title I glued the wooden word “Beautiful” under the twig. Then I stamped the words “December memories” under it to complete my title.

I stamped also some little stars all over my layout. I cut a triangle from the pink and white striped “Beautiful Mess” paper and attached it to the right corner below. I also glued some gold glitter washi tape over it.

I decorated the christmas ball ornament with the big pink bow with the sequins from the Make A Wish collection and a pink flower from the Bohemian Dream die cut ephemera pack.

Then I searched through all my Cocoa Vanilla supplies for round embellishments. I pierced the die cut embellishment “Smile” and a round sticker – both from the Bohemian Dream collection – on the top and attached them also with gold thread on my layout. Then I glued a pink chipboard heart on the round sticker and added a woodie from the Endless Summer collection and two flair buttons (Bohemian Dream and Endless Summer) on my layout.

I still missed the festive and winterly look on my layout and so I punched out confetti pieces from white cardstock with my confetti punch. I glued small and big confetti pieces all over my page to get the look of many little snowflakes.

Then I wrote my journaling on the pc and printed it out. I added it on the left side above omg photo. I glued the “Here´s the story” sticker with a foam dot on it.

Then I decorated my page with two word stickers and a chipboard word sticker from the Bohemian Dream collection. To finish off my page I added some sequins and enamel dots from the Bohemian Dream and the Make A Wish collection on my layout.

I hope I could inspire you! Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Thankful For You | Hello Lovely | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-11-16T07:45:11+00:00 November 26th, 2017|Design Team, Free Spirit, Hello Lovely, Inspiration, You ROCK|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing a new Cocoa Vanilla DT layout with you.

This week we have the gratitude theme here at the Cocoa Vanilla Blog. Therefor I made a clean and simple layout with a picture from me and my little family. I am so thankful for having my beloved husband at my side and together we have two wonderful little kids.

I decided to use the pretty and super cute Hello Lovely collection because I love the color scheme from this collection so much.

First I typed up my small journaling with my typewriter at the top of my 8.5 x 11 inch white cardstock. I picked “Thankful for you” for my title and decided to create the title with a pink foam phrase sticker from my stash and the small wooden grain and aqua alphabet stickers from the Cocoa Vanilla Hello Lovely collection. I glued the word “Thankful” directly under my journaling and the other two words also beneath it. Then I stitched over the foam word with my sewing machine.

I cut out the little banner (Love this) from the Hello Lovely “Lucky Dip” paper and I used my stapler before I glued it beside the words with the alpha stickers. Under the title I added the little diamond from the Hello Lovely die cut ephemera.

Then I cut a wide paper stripe from the black and white striped “Life Story” paper and a small one from the pink “Delightful” paper. I glued the striped one on the bottom and the other over it. Then I stitched over the lower border from my layout with my sewing machine.

I splattered some gold paint across the page. After that I punched out my photo in the shape of a circle. Therefor I used a circle punch with the size of 2 inch. I glued the photo on the papers below in the middle of my layout because I love it when my layouts have a clear structure.

Then I glued the sticker with the three flowers from the Hello Lovely accessory stickers sheet on the right side next to my photo. I used foam dots to add my layout more dimension. On the middle of the biggest flower I added the woodie (FAB) from the Free Spirit collection.

I glued the floral border in aqua on the top of my layout and stitched over it. Then I glued the sticker with the stars on it – also with some foam dots.

I stamped the date with a roller stamp on my layout and wrote on the other side where the photo was taken. Then I finished off my layout with some enamel dots from the Hello Lovely and the You Rock collection here and there.

I hope you like my layout and had fun reading my post.

Till next time,

Ulli

This Life | Bohemian Dream | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-11-02T08:10:44+00:00 November 12th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Inspiration, Wild at Heart, You ROCK|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today with a new layout with the amazing Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream collection.

For this week we had to decide to make a project in pink or in blue. I was sure that I would do a pink one (you know me… I love pink so much!), but then I had the fantastic patterned papers from the new Bohemian Dream collection in my hands and fell in love with the amazing blue tones…

Because of that I knocked the plan to scrap in pink on the head and made this one with lots of blue.

First I cut out this heart cut file from the Silhouette store and backed it with the following Bohemian Dream papers: Abundant, Wild & Free, Dreamer, Gypsy Heart and Flower Child. I used therefor only the sides with the blue pattern. After that I stitched with my sewing machine and sewing thread in aqua over all the outlines.

Then I cut out a piece of paper from the Kaleidoscope paper in 8.5×11 inch and a white cardstock a little bit smaller. I glued the white cardstock on the wooden grain paper.

I placed the photo on the left side below and over it the big heart on the right side of the layout. I cut the overlaying part from the paper heart with my scissor.

After that I placed the beautiful blue leaves from the Bohemian Dream Vellum accents under the “Boys Rule” flair button from the You Rock collection on the top of my picture. I decorated everything with some word stickers and the “Just Can´t Get Enough” Sticker from the Wild At Heart Accessory Sticker Sheet. I also used a washi stripe with the tape ruler in black from the You Rock collection on the bottom of my photo.

I glued the woodie “Smile” from the Free Spirit collection over the bottom of the heart and the photo. It matches so perfectly to the big smile from our little boy on that cute picture.

I added the title “This Life” with the Chipboard titles on the heart above on the layout.

Then I wrote my journaling with a black fine liner on my layout.

To finish of my layout I stamped the date with a roller stamp under the photo and glued some enamel dots and enamel shapes from the Bohemian Dream collection and the You Rock collection on my layout.

I hope you like my layout and I could inspire you the one way or another.

Till the next time, Ulli

Hello Heidi | Bohemian Dream | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-10-23T07:35:28+00:00 October 26th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Cut Files, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hello friends,

Ulli here today sharing a new layout with the gorgeous new Bohemian Dream collection.

I decided to scrap a layout with a photo from our little daughter. She got at the street festival of our town a Heidi ballon from her grandpa and I love this snapshot which I have made with my mobile phone.

I used a circle cut file with the word “Hello” from the Silhouette Design store and cut it out. Therefor I used pink cardstock from my stash. The word “Hello” should be the first word from my title “Hello Heidi”. I put it on a sheet of white 12×12 cardstock and placed the photo under the circle. Then I added some of the beautiful vellum flowers and one vellum butterfly from the Bohemian Dream “Vellum Accents” on the circle and stitched over them with my sewing machine.

I splattered some gold and black paint across the page and stamped the pretty Bohemian Dream heart stamp two times at the right side on the top of my layout. I used therefor the colors pink and grey to repeat some of the colors from the photo on my layout. I also stamped the phrase stamp “Hello you” with black ink on my layout besides the pink circle. The first ever clear stamp set from Cocoa Vanilla Studio is so very lovely and I am sure I will use it very often on my future projects.

I complete the title with some alphas from my stash and glued them beside the word “Hello” and over these pretty vellum flowers and the stitching.

Then I decorated the photo with the “Captured” tab from the die cut ephemera pieces, a chipboard arrow sticker and a “Love This” sticker from the accessory sticker sheet from the wonderful new Bohemian Dream collection.

I glued two flowers and the “Oh so happy” circle from the die cut ephemera pieces above the vellum flowers on the circle. Therefor I used glue dots to add them some dimension.

I wrote my journaling with a black fine liner under the circle with the photo and the flowers. Then I cut out a triangle from the “Wild & Free” patterned paper and glued it on the left corner below. I stamped the date with a roller stamp under my photo.

To finish off my page I added two word stickers, some of the super cute enamel dots and hearts and two of the chipboard hearts from the Bohemian Dream chipboard stickers on my layout.

I hope you like how my layout turned out and I could inspire you for a project with these gorgeous new Cocoa Vanilla collection.

Thanks so much for joining me here today!

Lovely | Bohemian Dream | Ulrike Dold

By | 2017-10-10T06:09:12+00:00 October 12th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hello everyone,

Ulli here with you today sharing my first layout with the gorgeous new Bohemian Dream collection with you.

This week we show here on the Cocoa Vanilla blog a project that describes our scrapbooking style. I would describe my scrapbooking style as playful and light. I often take white cardstock as my background and I love it to use girly collections with the colors pink and mint and with flowers. And so I thought the new Bohemian Dream collection would be perfect to make a layout in the “thinkpinkandmint-style”.

I decided to make a page with a black and white photo of our little daughter. The beautiful colors and pretty embellishments from the Bohemian Dream collection are pretty perfect for girly projects.

I used a diamond cut file from my Silhouette library and backed it with my favorite paper, the  “Wild and Free” patterned paper from the Bohemian Dream collection. Therefor I used the paper side with the multicolored dots. Then I stitched with my sewing machine and white sewing thread over the outlines of the diamond and let overlap some rests of the sewing thread. I love the playful look when I don’t cut off the sewing thread completely. I think this is a style that´s typical for me.

Then I cut two paper stripes from the “Kaleidoscope” and the “Wild and Free” papers from the pretty new Bohemian Dream collection. I used the side with the woodgrain from the “Kaleidoscope” paper and the blue side from the “Wild and Free” paper. I  fringed the blue paper with my fringe scissor and glued both paper stripes on the lower quarter of my white 12×12 cardstock. Then I stitched  a few times over the border above.

I placed my photo on my layout and glued the diamond with glue dots on the right side above. Then I splattered some gold and black paint across the page. That´s also a typical thing for me – I love it to do that and I nearly always use only the colors black and gold.

I added some of the gorgeous flower die cuts from the new Bohemian Dream collection under and above the right corner of the diamond and glued the super cute chipboard bird over it. I also decorated it with the “Live a colourful life” and the “Be yourself” stickers from the Accessory sticker sheet.

On the left side I glued the “Hello beautiful” sticker and a die cut butterfly on the diamond.

I glued also some of the amazing die cut flowers on the left lower corner from the photo.

Then I inked the upper part of the cute “Lovely” chipboard title with a pink ink pad and let it dry. I placed the title over the woodgrain stripe and stitched over it with my sewing machine.

I glued the “Shine Bright” chipboard sticker over my photo and added one of  these cute enamel hearts over it. Then I typed the date with my typecast on a label sticker and glued it with glue dots under my photo. Glue dots are also always a inherent part of my layouts because I love to work with more dimension on my projects. And I also often use my beloved mint typewriter to type the date and/or the journaling on my layouts.

After that I placed some word stickers on the paper stripes – two of them with glue dots as well. Then I glued the „Wild child“ button from the Bohemian Dream collection besides the chipboard title on my layout. I really love the amazing Cocoa Vanilla flair buttons. They are so adorable and they are always an eye catcher!

To finish off my page I added some enamel dots in orange, blue and pink on my layout. Enamel dots and shapes are always some of my favorites embellishments, because I use them on nearly all my projects for the last finishing. They give projects some playfulness as well.

I hope you like my blogpost and my layout. What scrapbooking style do you have and what techniques do you use often?

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Ulli
