Hello Scrappy friends, it’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share featuring the brand new More than Words collection. It’s a wonderful collection full of soft pastel colours and super sweet designs and I cannot wait to continue creating with it.

For this creation I chose to scrap lift a layout I made a couple years back that featured loads of punched circles. I was running low on inspiration since having some time away from creating while I recovered from surgery. I’m really happy with how this turned out as it definitely has its differences to the original layout.

I am loving all the patterns within this collection they all compliment each other in the perfect way, and the stamp set.… LOVE The floral design is perfect for adding a touch of colour with paints or watercolours.

I kept the photo stack pretty simple using pieces from both the 12×12 COLLAGE cut apart paper, B side of RADIANT from the 6×6 paper pad and a lace doily from my stash. Under and around all this I’ve layered different size circular elements using chipboard pieces, accessory stickers and punched pattern papers from the 6×6 paper pad. I also tucked in a few vellum florals, stamped some mini hearts and added some chipboard heart stickers to complete.

I ‘scattered’ more circular shapes in a diagonal line across the layout in both top left and bottom right corners, and replicated more design elements from the centre of the layout – stamped hearts, heart shapes and enamel dots.

I also added a flair and the watercolour stamped design from the stamp set to the bottom right ‘cluster’

Lastly a few paper strips left over from my previous layout, some other pieces repeated from other areas of the layout and some hand written journalling and my work here was done.

Im really happy with how this all came together. I hope its inspired you in some way, especially to look back on your previous work and find a layout that you could give a new spin on.

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Hello magical SEVEN | More than Words | Michelle Stokes

By | 2018-01-23T18:57:41+00:00 January 25th, 2018|Chit Chat, Design Team, Inspiration, More Than Words|

Hello Scrappy Friends! It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share featuring the BRAND NEW and seriously STUNNING collection – More than Words. Oh my HECK this collection is so so beautiful that it needs ALL the heart eye emojis one could possibly use lol

When I first saw this collection online I was IN LOVE. The patterns, the colours, all just pure magic! In person its even better, and I knew I needed to try and use them all within one layout. Challenge accepted once I took the 6×6 paper pad out of the box, pure heaven! Perfect colours for scrapbooking Leila, especially documenting this special moment – her 7th birthday.

I went a little crazy and chopped up tonnes of tiny little strips with the intention of weaving them all together in some way, similar to a layout that I created back in 2014. However I really wanted the patterns and colours to stand out rather than mix together so I ended up laying them all out randomly in a vertical line and weaved just a few to the right of where the photo is

I layered a couple of pattern papers from the 12×12 cut apart paper COLLAGE along with a frame from the ephemera pack and the photo, printed in 3x4inch size so that it didn’t cover up too much of the pretty paper strips. I then created a couple of clusters around the photo by tucking in pieces of ephemera from the Die cut pack and the vellum pack, plus a couple of extras from the stickers sheet, the chipboard heart and an enamel heart. I then created a mini cluster of similar items at the top of the layout, including some machine stitching for added detail.

Next I created a mixed element title using the ‘Hello’ chipboard sticker, “magical” accessory sticker and alphas from the Endless Summer collection. To finish off this area I tucked in a date tab, floral ephemera piece, enamel dots and some machine stitching.

Then lastly this little area of weaved paper goodness, created to balance out the other side of the layout and bring it all together. I’ve used some of the left over paper strips, an accessory sticker, die cut ephemera pieces, vellum butterfly, a chipboard heart, a couple more of those precious little enamel dots and machine stitching. As a final touch to the layout I added a sprinkling of gold ink.

Well thats it from me today, I hope you’ve found this inspiring. It’s definitely kickstarted my creative juices!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Creative Cards | Bohemian Dream | Michelle Stokes

By | 2018-01-09T17:15:58+00:00 January 11th, 2018|Bohemian Dream, Cards, Tags and Mini Albums, Chit Chat, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hi Everyone, it’s Michelle back today with a super quick creative share. I’m still taking it easy since my surgery last month, and hadn’t really spent much time in my craft room, so I thought what better way to ease back into it than with a couple of cards. Super simple and quite easy to replicate using pieces from the beautiful Bohemian Dream collection.

The first card I made using some offcuts of the 6×6 Paper pad cut into banner flags, ‘strung’ along the top of the card and stitched in place.

I used the paint smear stamp from the set in the collection and some yellow ink under the ‘shine bright’ sticker and layered another sticker above it to create a sweet sentiment for the recipient.

To finish the card I added a leaf from the ephemera pack and some enamel dots for a little extra pop of colour.

Second card was another super simple one but my favourite by far. I used a piece of the beautiful floral print ABUNDANT from the 6×6 paper pad behind some white cardstock, then a strip of GYPSY HEART under the chipboard word HAPPY from the collection.

I added in the word birthday with alphas from the Make a Wish collection as nothing else looked as good. Lastly I tucked in a couple of the leaf pieces from the ephemera pack, some hand writing to finish off the card and some machine stitching to hold it all in place.

Thanks so much for stopping by today, be sure to check in daily for more inspiration from the other Design team members.
Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

2017 Favourites | Mixed Collections | Michelle Stokes

By | 2017-12-29T08:00:20+00:00 December 29th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Chit Chat, Design Team, Inspiration, Make A Wish|

Hi Everyone, It’s Michelle back here to finish the month off with a quick post about my favourite layouts created in 2017. I’ve created a tonne of layouts with Cocoa Vanilla Studio products for both this design team and the others that I’m on, so it was extremely hard to narrow down the favourites. I really thought this post would be filled with florals and pretty feminine colours, but surprisingly from the 5 I chose, 3 of them are featuring the You Rock collection!

First up is this fun creation “Owlette & Batbear” featuring the You Rock collection. Inspired by the stars from the collection and the colours of the photos, this collection truly made this memory shine. While Leila has moved on from being obsessed with PJ Masks to loving all things Mario and Luigi, I’m so glad this moment was captured and recorded. This child of ours completely embraces all kinds fun and imaginative play from the moment she wakes and all day through. ORIGINAL POST HERE

Next up is one of my favourites created with the Make a Wish collection Hip Hip Hooray”. This collection was and is still by far my most favourite collection, although Bohemian Dream is pretty much equal to it. The floral designs and the sweet colour palette are perfect for documenting all things feminine and girly, especially a Birthday Celebration. Teamed with a large floral cut file from the Colour Me Happy collection and lace doily from my stash and we have a match made in heaven (well for me anyway) ORIGINAL POST HERE

Now this creation “Star of the Week” is definitely one of my all time favourites, a scrap lift of a layout made by Missy earlier in the year. Another layout using the You Rock collection, perfect for scrapping School photos, and documenting the very first award Leila received at school. This was such a fun layout to create, especially when it involved scrap lifting a long time scrappy Idol of mine 😉 ORIGINAL POST HERE

Almost to the end of the post, and were up to “One of a Kind” that I created more recently using the Bohemian Dream Collection. I couldn’t not share this layout as a favourite! The colours and designs within the collection are absolutely stunning, so much so that I couldn’t help but use almost all of it on one layout! I created a grid using the 6×6 paper pad (the smaller scale designs are perfect for grid work) and grouped a few of my favourites from the ephemera pack to finish it off. ORIGINAL POST HERE

Lastly a fun layout using more of the You Rock collection and a silly photo of my nephew. It was so nice to create something more masculine, and to record a special little moment shared with this little cutie. “Hello Mister Rad” was one of the quickest layouts created to date, surprisingly it all just came together without much thought so I should definitely try and do it more often! ORIGINAL POST HERE

Well thats all from me today, Thank you all so much for stopping by to check out my favourites. Another big THANK YOU to you all for your continued support throughout the year, I can’t wait to get back to scrapping and sharing again in the new year!

Until then, Happy Holidays and Happy Scrapping!

Unforgettable FUN | Mixed collections | Michelle Stokes

By | 2017-12-08T20:09:11+00:00 December 11th, 2017|Chit Chat, Colour Me Happy, Hello Sunshine, Inspiration, Made Of Awesome|

Hello Hello! It’s Michelle back here with a fun new layout share for part of our Scrap Christmas without a Christmas collection theme. This was a fun challenge to create with and I really enjoyed dipping back into some of the older collections.

You might also notice that I’ve gone down a size with my layout for today. Partly inspired by Raquel’s inspiring 8.5×11 creations but mainly due to having tiny xmas photos printed for a previous project that I didn’t want to go to waste, but also didn’t to lose on a larger 12×12 layout.

I’ve gone with a crazy star theme by creating some strands of stars hanging from the top of the layout. These were fussy cut from the ROCK STAR paper in the Made of Awesome collection and I added a couple of larger sticker stars from the Accessory sheets in the same collection and also the Hello Sunshine collection. I completed the layout with the photo, a doily from my stash and some stickers all grouped together towards the bottom and the addition of some typed journalling. I really enjoyed how quickly this all came together once I finished fussy cutting lol

I backed the entire layout with some of the STAR SPANGLED paper from the Colour Me Happy collection. You see I’m a little obsessed with the star shapes and really did go a little crazy with them on this layout LOL

Here’s a close up of the photo and title cluster, I’ve used a cut apart card from the MIXED UP paper in the Made of Awesome collection underneath the photo. The enamel dots I’ve used all over the layout are from the Make a Wish collection, and Colour Me Happy.

And lastly a quick couple of typed lines talking about Christmas morning last year. Her smile definitely lit up the room she was that excited and happy! Cannot wait to see her reactions this year.

Well thats all from me today, thanks so much for stopping by!
Until next time, Happy Scrapping xx

Thankful for You | Bohemian Dream | Michelle Stokes

By | 2017-11-20T18:56:15+00:00 November 25th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hello! It’s Michelle back here today with a new layout share for part of the fun Thankful theme we have happening this week. I have many things to be thankful for so it was hard to settle on just one for this theme, but for this special topic I’ve chosen a sweet selfie and scrapped it using the Beautiful Bohemian Dream collection!

This girl right here, which most of you know as the super talented and lovely Raquel Bowman from our Design Team, is one of my oldest and dearest friends. Over 28 years and still going strong, well at least I think so HAHA So many reasons to be thankful for her and the friendship we have, and now the friendship that our little ones have with each other. Wouldn’t change a thing!

For the layout itself I knew I wanted to layer up a few different papers with a quote card, some hidden journaling and a few mini clusters of pretty bits. I was considering bringing them together into a grid form, but felt it was too much pattern for my simple and fresh style. So I kept it simple with the layers of papers, photo and quote card with hidden journalling slightly above centre on the layout with a mixed element title below. I added mini clusters diagonally across from each other using similar elements and a smaller cluster with some strips of pattern papers along the bottom edge.

Papers used under the photo are some of my most favourite from the Bohemian Dream collection, such bright happy colours  are the best way to document this precious photo. We don’t take many selfies together as they just never seem to look right plus we’re usually too focused on the moments lived rather than the photos taken, which is quite funny when we are both avid scrapbookers and life documenters! Papers chosen are the WILD & FREE, FLOWER CHILD, GYPSY HEART, KALEIDOSCOPE, ABUNDANT and BOHO BITS.

Love this quote, and though it was just perfect for this layout. No other words needed, although I did add plenty in some hidden journalling under the card. You can find this quote card on the BOHO BITS paper, and that big thick floral piece is from the chipboard stickers set

Oh so mushy lol I don’t tell people enough, how much that I am thankful for them, but hopefully these words will suffice. I added a few ephemera pieces to the inside of the card along with the typed words to add some colour

I created the title using pieces from other collections and a handwritten word. The alpha stickers are from the Totally Rad Collection, I dulled the colour down using some white gesso so they didn’t stand out too much. There are so many different forms of alpha stickers to choose from in store, you can find them all HERE with all the other stickers available from all collections. The ‘You’ is from the Wild at Heart wood veneers pack that I left raw.

Lastly I added a couple of paper strips from offcuts to the bottom of the page along with a label sticker, perfect for adding the date to, some other word stickers, a floral ephemera piece and some enamel dots.

Well thats all from me and my gushy mushiness this week! Thanks so much for stopping by, hopefully my OTT words about my best friend hasn’t made you feel too ill LOL

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!

Unique, WILD & One of a Kind | Bohemian Dream | Michelle Stokes

By | 2017-11-09T17:30:50+00:00 November 11th, 2017|Bohemian Dream, Design Team, Inspiration|

Hello Scrappy Friends! It’s Michelle back with a new layout share for November. Todays creation features the fun Bohemian Dream collection that is full of sweet colours and designs, and loads of fun sayings within the stickers and die cut ephemera packs. All that plus a couple of hilarious photos of Leila on Snapchat and we have one perfectly simple layout.

To ensure the photos took centre stage on the layout, I kept the embellishing to a minimum. I don’t normally go too crazy with clusters, but for this creation I really scaled it back. I backed the photos with papers from the 6×6 paper pad that complimented the colours within them. I layered them both over a doily from my stash, then onto another 6×6 piece of pattern paper that I cut down to fit underneath. I layered a couple of strips underneath all of this before adding my title and embellishments.

Heres a closer look at all the pretty details..

I cut this butterfly from the Boho Bits cut apart paper and adhered to the layout using some foam tape, then tucked in a vellum floral piece, an ephemera tab and some enamel shapes to complete the cluster. On the top right of the layout I’ve added another ephemera piece along with a chipboard shape to fill in some of the white space and give balance to the layout.

Snapchat is such a fun app to use, especially for kids. The filters always make us laugh!

These chipboard words are pretty awesome and are perfect for adding colour to with watercolours or inks. I chose a couple items from the pack to create my title with the addition of an ephemera piece and some stickers from the accessory sheet. I also tucked in another vellum floral piece for an extra pop of colours along with some enamel dots.

Lastly I added a strip of the Wild & Free paper along the bottom of the layout then created one final mini cluster using some ephemera and vellum pieces plus a sticker and enamel dots.

Thats all from me today, I hope this super quick layout share has inspired you in some way 🙂

Until next time, Happy Scrapping!
