Hi everyone, I have you all had a lovely Christmas yesterday in the Southern Hemisphere yesterday.  Today I have a layout to share with you again using the Endless Summer collection.  This one is so perfect for this time of the year for us I am just obsessed with scrapping with it. sunshineOn a previous layout, I used a cut file which had circles on it and so I kept the leftover ‘negative’ circles from it and added them to this layout.  I love being economical with my supplies so I definitely keep as much of my leftovers as possible as you never know when you might need them.
sunshine-detail I then added some more layering with the embellishments in  he collection. The soft dreamy colour palette is just stunning and so easy to use. The ‘Capture This’ embellishment was perfect for my photo of my youngest on a kindy trip.

I finished off with some flowers because why not and also some clouds as it was a bit rainy that day too.sunshine-detail-2-jpg

Thanks for stopping by the blog today, if you are on holidays then I hope you are enjoying the festive season and got lots of cool scrappy supplies from Santa

Best Day Ever | Endless Summer | Michelle Whorwood

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Fans!

Michelle here with a new layout with the Endless Summer collection.  This is just one of my favourite collections so far.. the colours just are so beautiful and work with lots of different photos not just summer.  On this layout I have used a photo of my daughter and one of her best friends at her besties birthday party recently.

best-day-ever I cut out the Sweet Treats patterned paper using a circle cut file.  I then used lots of the embellishments and layered them up.  I added the puffy sticker to this woodgrain piece as the writing on the woodgrain didn’t fit in with the theme of my layout. best-day-ever-detail I really enjoy scrapping square photos as it allows me to add lots of frames on layouts like this wood grain one from the Ephemera in this collection.  I then kept the rest of the layout quite simple but just with some more puffy stickers and wood grain title using the wood veneers in the collection.  The little scalloped edge and the ‘this moment’ are both stickers from the Life is Beautiful Collection – one of the other things I love is how you can mix up the Cocoa Vanilla collections so easily.best-day-ever-detail-1

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today

Summer Days | Endless Summer | Michelle Whorwood

Hi everyone, Michelle here with next layout with Endless Summer!!  Do you sometimes have photos that you love in both black and white and also in colour?  I really love using black and white photos as it makes it super easy to create layouts with lots of different colours but with this photo of my daughter with tiger face paint was perfect for the Endless Summer collection.  Therefore, I ended up scrapping the same photo in black and white and colour in a grid style and I really liked how it came out. summer-fun

First of all, I loved the softness of the Aloha Sunshine patterned paper and used this as the background for my layout.  It’s subtle pattern makes a nice change from white cardstock but still remains uncluttered.  Then I used two of the journal cards from the This & That patterned paper to offset my photos and layered stickers and embellishments, on and around these. Lastly, I added some of the ephemera and sticker flowers on the outside corner of my photos and finished it off with a stitched title and enamel dots.

A close up of one of the journal cards embellished:summer-fun-detail-1 I know I say this every time a new collection comes out but Endless Summer is amazing and one of my favourite  CVS collections!  You need this collection in your life!  Hope you have yours?

Caravan Fun | Endless Summer | Michelle Whorwood

Hi everyone!

Michelle here with my first layout with the stunning Endless Summer collection. Wow I was super excited to start creating with this new collection and hunted out some recent photos of my girls at our caravan to scrap a layout. caravanfun

First, I was drawn to the coral and mint tones in the collection so I gathered some mists from my stash and created a mixed media background with a combo of three different colours. I sprayed some of the mist first onto some packaging from the kit and then pressed it on to my background to create a more subtle watercolour background and of also added some splatters as well.  I then added some layers of patterned paper under my photo  also in the mint and coral.  Next I went and added some embellishments – the Ephemera is perfect for layering lots of embellishments and I decided to use the film strip next to my photo and use it to create little windows for embellishments like the cute wood veneer anchor.  I added some clouds and the sweet banner for a whimsical effect as well.

Here are some close ups:caravanfun-detail-1 caravanfun-detail

I hope I have inspired you to get your hands on this fabulous new collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio – I am having loads of fun creating with it and will have more to share with you later on this month.

Take care xx

Hi Everyone, Michelle here with my take on the fabulous sketch by Creative Scrappers.   I don’t often scrap multi photo layouts so I find that using a sketch is a perfect way to get the creative mojo flowing.  Here is the sketch:creative-scrappers-299And here is my take:  I have used the Life is Beautiful collection and tilted the sketch sideways to make it my own.  creative-scrappersI started off using the Heart Song patterned paper as my background and then I’ve added lots of layers of the other patterned papers in different size rectangles from the collection under my photos of our family holiday to Fiji.  I created three photos in black and white and then left one photo in colour to add a bit of interest to my page and as my photos had lots of different colours in them changing some to black and white makes the photos seem less busy with everything else going on in the page.
creative-scrappers-detail-1 I used my fringe scissors to cut the In bloom paper to add some texture and border my photos and the bits and pieces from the ephemera worked perfectly to add lots of embellishments to my page.  The Just perfect banner added the perfect touch to the top of far right photo.
creative-scrappers-detail Added the scalloped border sticker from the sticker sheet to underline my title. Lastly, I added ‘wonderful memories’ as my sub title and the wood veneer banner underneath to finish off my layout creative-scrappers-detail-2 I hope you have enjoyed layout share with the latest Creative Scappers sketch.  I hope you play along with us with this challenge

Picture Perfect | Love Always | Michelle Whorwood

By | 2016-10-11T18:53:23+00:00 October 12th, 2016|Chit Chat, Design Team, Love Always|

Hi there, Michelle here with a new layout of my youngest daughter with her best friend being crazy kids at a recent zoo trip.  I have used the  Love Always collection and love how it works with my photos – it is so easy to mix up the various patterned papers to create a soft delicate back drop for my photos.

I decided to use the fun ‘spotty’ Class Act patterned paper for my background and adore the pale pink of the Twin Set patterned paper so added a strip of this down the centre of my page.    I also went a bit crazy with my embellishments adding lots of details from the collection to frame and add interest around my photo.  Here are some detailed close ups:

Oh Hello | Make a Wish | Michelle Whorwood

By | 2016-09-25T15:54:59+00:00 September 26th, 2016|Design Team, Make A Wish|

Hi Cocoa Vanilla Fans!  Michelle here with a layout using the Make A Wish collection.  I had loads of fun creating this one – I liked the bright and fun colours with my photo of my girls with their friends. All the girls were wearing lots of different colours and there were lots of flowers in the background so the colours of Make a Wish were perfect to scrap this photo.  I really liked the floral side of the Daydream patterned paper as my girls were actually planting their own flowers at the garden centre and used that as a border to my white cardstock.  I then added some strips of patterned paper under my photo and some clustering of the embellishments in a visual triangle.  heySome close ups:hey-detail-1 hey-detail-2 hey-detail Thanks for stopping by the blog today!  Did you know Make a Wish is now available direct from the Cocoa Vanilla Studio’s online store!  Hope you have your order in or if not head that way now!!
